Meet Esther

Esther Goldenberg is an author, educator, and the mother of two fabulous children. Growing up on the Southside of Chicago in a diverse community, she learned to appreciate art and culture at an early age. One of her most beloved places in Chicago is the Museum of  Science and Industry. Sometimes that Chicago landmark feels more like home than the apartment she grew up in.

Esther thought of herself as a reluctant reader until she read John Irving’s, The World According to Garp in her teens. From that day on, she discovered that she loves books! These days, she mostly listens to audiobooks.

Esther’s writing career grew from the stories she told her children. Book after book poured out of her as she began to put the words down on paper. She also shares her deep knowledge of storytelling, Judaism, and faith through teaching and speaking work (connect with Esther here to learn more).

Her much anticipated debut Biblical fiction novel (book one in the Desert Songs Trilogy), The Scrolls of Deborah, is available now. Esther continues to write and teach students of all ages, and also enjoys adventures with her children, chanting with her neighbors, and walks in nature.
